What is Inaya Art?
Inaya Art is an organization which promotes photography as a fine art form. It attempts to create awareness about fine art photography and facilitate its inclusion in the mainstream art market. It showcases the personal and creative work of various photographers through periodic exhibitions and through its website www.inayaart.com, helping them display their work on an international playground. Most importantly, it makes genuine fine art photography accessible to people by serving as a one-stop shop for anyone who would like to buy or invest in it. It also caters to people who are aware of photography as an art form but may not know where to find genuine fine art work.
Who are we?
Inaya Art was started by Jimit Shah, a Bombay-based photographer, in 2005 to explore and promote the fine art photography market in India. Realizing that there were few takers for this art form and that everything photographed was commercial, he set up this organization to address the creative needs of fellow photographers and to create a space in which their works might be appreciated.
Why photography?
Paintings traditionally are considered art. Photography which is a more recent addition to the media of self-expression is still to attain that credibility. Inaya Art believes that it is the creative expression and the thought process of the artist that defines art and not the medium used to create it.
