About Transience 2006
Transience
30 Photographers. 240 Photographs.
Showcasing those transient moments immortalized on film.
With Transience, a fine art photography exhibition, the shutters open on Inaya Art. Launched by photographer Jimit Shah to promote fine art photography, Inaya Art has collated the works of an eclectic group of photographers and photojournalists for its inaugural exhibition. Ranging between the ages of 21 and 60 and spread across Asia in places like Mumbai, Pune, Dubai and Singapore, some of them have made photography their profession while for others it's a hobby; but for all of them it's a passion. And this passion communicates itself very strongly through their images.
The photographs displayed at Transience fall under four broad categories: abstract, portraiture, photojournalism and travel & landscape. Although there is no single underlying theme, effort has been taken to ensure that there is harmony in the exhibition.
Contrary to its name, Transience will outlive its exhibition life in The Fourth Floor Gallery at Fort, Mumbai, finding a permanent lodging along with other works by photographers at the online photography gallery www.inayaart.com.
