A graphic designer and freelance photographer who has lived most of his life in Mumbai, Anirudh’s images reflect a sensibility shaped by the diverse cultural traditions and perspectives the city has to offer.

While shooting for his series ‘Bombay Untitled’, he was often besieged by crowds of street children who were fascinated by his equipment. “I would spend more time answering their questions than documenting their daily drudgery,” he says. “For these children, homelessness did not mean having to sleep on the streets; rather, it was the felt absence of a family to care for them. Only in banding together would they feel protected from the outside world.”
