A commercial photographer, Kunal has worked as an assistant to David De Souza and Prasad Naik. Allured by the cultural kaleidoscope that is India, he uses photography to capture "life in its act of living". His series on Pandharpur has been propelled by this same fascination for cultural diversity. "Any pilgrimage in India reflects an immense variety of colour and class. It is impossible to isolate a single culture as an individual entity in such places, and everybody - irrespective of caste and class - is the same at the doorsteps of god. You can find the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor walking hand in hand on the streets of Pandharpur. This is what inspired me for my work."
